Discover the profiles of the five filmmakers selected for phase three of “Grandi Speranze”, the film training project joining Locarno with Lombardy, organized with the Filmidee association and supported by Fondazione Cariplo.
The project “Grandi Speranze”, a training pathway from Lombardy to the Locarno Film Festival and back – organized by the Locarno Film Festival with the Filmidee association and supported by Fondazione Cariplo – has already featured many memorable moments. Phase one brought fifteen young critics and filmmakers from Lombardy to Locarno74, where they tried their hand at producing video essays on Alberto Lattuada. The journey continued back in Milan, where two of the videos were screened as part of the Locarno a Milano program in the city’s season of festival re-runs, Le Vie del Cinema.
Now that the initiative has reached its third and final phase, the time has come to learn more about the five filmmakers from Lombardy. They will enjoy an opportunity to take important steps towards completing their own film projects. From 28 November, they will be taking part in a major training experience that will get underway with an encounter with the artistic director of the Locarno Film Festival, Giona A. Nazzaro.
