Giulia Fasola

Giulia was born in Switzerland in 1996, and studies Set Decoration at the Academy in Bologna, having also had experience in Theatre Design and Performing Arts at the College of Fine Arts in London. Her academic and professional path is linked to theatrical performances and art installations. She also took part in the 72nd edition of the Locarno Film Festival, as a coordinator for Locarno Young.

She is an experimenter in search of a subject matter that is her own, and her theoretical studies are accompanied by a dialogue between different artforms, such as painting, music, video art and cinema.

“I’ve been following the Locarno Film Festival from a very young age, and it has changed in many ways. It’s an environment that thrives on independent present-day artistic expressions, and it often shows an important interest in experimental forms, while also showcasing vintage programs and films that are more suitable for a varied audience. This new edition aims to support independent filmmaking even more than before, and I’m interested in seeing how the Festival will evolve after this historically relevant period.”
