Matías Piñeiro

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1982. He lives in New York, USA. During the last ten years he has developed a series of films based on the female roles in William Shakespeare's comedies called “The Shakespeareads”. He teaches cinema at Pratt Institute (New York, USA) and programs for Punto de Vista – International Documentary Film Festival of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) and Anthology Film Archives (New York, USA). His newest film, Isabella, competed in the Encounters section of the 2020 Berlinale, winning a Special Mention.
