Damien Manivel began his career as a dancer, before switching to filmmaking. After studying at Le Fresnoy, he directed various short films, including La dame au chien (2010), which won the Prix Jean Vigo. Since 2014, he has produced and directed four films that played at international film festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, Venice and San Sebastián. His latest work, Isadora’s Children (2019), competed in the Concorso internazionale and won the best director's prize at the 72nd Locarno Film Festival.
