Safia Benhaim lives and works in Brittany. Born in France to Moroccan political refugees, she graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Her films, between documentary and fantasy, explore the experience of exile and have played at international festivals like Locarno, Rotterdam and Vienna. La Fièvre (A Spell of Fever, 2015) won the Ammodo Tiger Short Award at Rotterdam, and L’Arrière-pays (2009) received the Grand Prix Expérimental Côté Court in Pantin.
