Shahram Mokri

Shahram Mokri directed his first feature-length film in 2008, titled Ashkan, the Charmed Ring and Other Stories, presented at the 2009 Busan Film Festival. In 2013 his next film, Fish and Cat, won the Orizzonti Special Prize for innovative content at the 70th Venice Film Festival. In 2018 he premiered Invasion (2017) in Berlin. 2020 saw him return to Venice with his third film Careless Crime and won the Premio Bisato d’Oro for Best Screenplay. The film won the Silver Hugo award at the 56th Chicago Film Festival. He sat on the Orizzonti Jury at the 78th Venice Film Festival, and on the International Competition Jury for the 57th Chicago Film Festival.
