Giselle Lin is a filmmaker from Singapore. She has always wanted to tell stories about women, for women; depicting women’s passions, disappointments, and routines. She is inspired by the transience of being and the impermanence of, and emotional quality present in, all things, living or not. Giselle appreciates the analogue process (feeling, making, hoping, waiting), and regularly tries to capture still and motion pictures of everyday life with her film cameras. Giselle believes that art is the ordinary and the ordinary is art. She often looks to the women around her, and their experiences and moments in-between, for stories. She hopes to forever make films filled with human truth, touch, and taste — films that people feel before understanding them.

Reeling from a recent divorce, a solitary secondary school teacher finds herself counselling the teenage daughter of her first love. Now, with the annual parent-teacher meeting looming, the teacher has to confront a long-buried truth about her sexuality, her identity, and her past.
'Midnight Blue Spring' is my attempt at recollecting and reconciling with my teenage self and all her (our) hopes, fears, love, and pain. It is a film about firsts and lasts, and everything in-between, and in many ways is an ongoing, ever-ebbing and flowing love letter to 16-year-old Giselle.
