The Open Doors Projects' Hub is an international platform for eight selected feature film projects within Latin America and the Caribbean looking for international collaborations.
8 teams, formed by director and producer, are invited to participate to the Open Doors Project’s Hub 2023 with their feature projects.
At the Open Doors projects' Hub, the selected project-holders will be introduced to European and international industry professionals with the aim to encourage collaborations in terms of co-production, funding and distribution, or professional training.
The program will take place in two phases: at first, online during the month of July, then onsite from 3 to 8 of August, in the framework of Locarno Film Festival and Locarno Pro.
Over the two phases, it will alternate coaching, group discussions and group work, professional meetings and networking activities.
On the last day in Locarno, a professional jury and partner initiatives grant financial or in-kind awards to a few winning projects, such as the Open Doors Grant amounting to CHF 50,000 (thanks to Visions sud est and the City of Bellinzona), the CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée) prize of 8'000 Euros, ARTE France awarding the Arte Kino International Prize, but also the Sørfond Film Fund, the BrLab Award, the LEXIA Insights Award, the World Cinema Fund Award, the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), IFFR Pro prize, the Moulin d'Andé – CECI prize and the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur award.
