The Atelier du Futur is a free cultural initiative promoted by la Mobiliare, designed to stimulate creativity and reflection in young participants. This four-day event offers a rich program of meetings, workshops, artistic activities, film screenings, and discussions on current and relevant topics such as sustainability, conscious consumption, culture, and digitalization.
Inspiration is at the heart of the Atelier: 50 girls and boys aged between 13 and 15 will be guided by experts, artists, and leading figures who will share their life experiences and projects. This all-around cultural immersion will encourage young people to develop new ideas and visions to shape their future.
The Atelier is aimed at 50 young people who are eager to learn, share their ideas, and challenge themselves. Through the proposed activities, participants will gain tools to shape and express their ideas, delving into topics such as environmental sustainability, art, consumption, and digital culture. The experience aims to leave a lasting impact: new perspectives, useful skills, and a few great friendships.
Throughout the event, participants will be constantly accompanied by qualified staff, ensuring a safe and well-cared-for environment.

Yes, because the Atelier is designed as a complete journey: each day helps you develop your ideas and projects. If you miss a day, you might lose key parts of the program.
Once registration closes (when we reach 50 participants), we’ll contact you and you’ll be able to choose the workshops that interest you most from the ones available.
Most of the Atelier workshops are in Italian. The Locarno Film Festival films are in their original language, but they have subtitles in Italian or another national language, depending on the film.
No, overnight stays are not included.
Yes! Every day includes snacks, lunch, afternoon snacks, and dinner. The food is healthy, seasonal, and creatively prepared.
All participants will receive a form to indicate any allergies or intolerances.
Nothing! Thanks to la Mobiliare, which supports the project, the Atelier du Futur is completely free.
Travel to the event is not included, but we’ll provide a Locarno Kids pass that lets you travel for free on public transport during the Festival.

The Atelier du Futur arrived in Ticino in 2022.
Since then, each edition has brought something new, unexpected, and unforgettable.
Participants were hosted at the beautiful Villa San Quirico in Minusio, near Locarno, and experienced days full of inspiring encounters, discussions on current topics, and films from the Locarno Film Festival that sparked thought, conversation, and dreams.
The workshops ranged from creative cooking, music, fashion, cinema, robotics, and art espression; different paths to give voice to what each participant imagines when they think of the world of tomorrow.
